“What would it look like to actually walk through ‘cloud nine’?” That question is where this shoot started. At Schloss Bensberg, a baroque palace outside Cologne where the ceilings are still covered in original frescoes and gilded plasterwork, the team let dry ice roll low across the floor during the ceremony to stand in for real clouds, and dressed the room in lace, pearls, ivory, and warm gold instead of adding anything that would compete with the architecture.

The Details: Lace, Pearls & Modern Romance
The lace was layered in sheer tiers, and the pearls threaded through nearly every detail on purpose, a way of grounding the cloud-nine idea in something you could actually touch, while pulling something classic into a more modern register at the same time.

First Look
The bride’s first look wasn’t with the groom. It was with her father, inside the palace library, surrounded by dark wood shelving and towers of leather-bound books. No posing, just the two of them finding each other in that room.
A Live-Painted Wedding Moment
In one corner of the ballroom, a painter stood at her easel through the entire ceremony, capturing the scene in real time. When the couple turned around at the end to see the finished portrait for the first time, the moment was real, not staged for the camera.
